When his mom starts a new job, 11yo Cal is horrified to learn she’s arranged for him to have a babysitter after school. Even worse, it’s Mrs. Jenkins, the quirky old lady who lives down the street. But Mrs. Jenkins is not what Cal expects. She has magic yarn she knits into portals that let her travel anywhere in the world—and even through time. Suddenly, his after-school routine transforms into a series of epic adventures.

Armed with various magic items, they journey through different eras, uncover forgotten heroes, witness hilarious historical events, and explore amazing geography. And while Mrs. Jenkins helps Cal learn some important personal lessons along the way, he also learns Mrs. Jenkins is keeping secrets—secrets that could mean danger for Cal, herself, and all of history as they know it.

This particular issue contains genre-based fictional works by authors such as Jeanna Mason Stay and Katherine Cowley, and features my story, “The Double-Snatcher”–a pseudo-thriller with beavers as the main characters.

It features my story, “Lost and Found” about a retail store employee learning not only to work the customer service desk but also what customer service can actually mean. Mormon Lit Blitz Anthology, vol 2 is a stand-alone anthology of poetry, flash fiction, essays and more that were featured as finalists in the Mormon Lit Blitz contests from 2017-2021 and are meant to appeal to a Mormon audience in some way. The anthology features two of my stories.
“The Other Commander” explores themes of faith and fear when one member aboard the lunar refueling station never appears in video calls and his friend at ground control suspects something has gone wrong. 
“What Have You Against Being Baptized?” is uniquely written with a 2nd person POV and has two young missionaries facing their most unusual situation yet—an android that wants to be baptized.
